Biography

Joness is fascinated with the idea that we experience things we cannot see. For example, we can't see the sound waves of music, but we can see people dancing. The naked eye can't detect atoms, yet they are the building blocks of all visible form. The notion that everything in physical reality arises seemingly out of nothing, to be seen for a time, only to disappear again, became the inspiration for her works.

Her first major paintings were murals, painted on the walls of her home. She soon began exhibiting and live painting at global festivals and concerts to incorporate the excitement of an event into a canvas. To advance her skills, she began ongoing studies with world-renowned artist, Alex Grey, at his art center in the Hudson Valley of New York from 2012 - 2017.

Joness continues to explore the bridge between the realms of seen and the unseen through her paintings. To symbolize the invisible, Joness developed an abstract pattern language of chevrons, circles, and ornament. Utilizing these icons, she hopes to express the interpenetrating influence of intangible forces, and point the viewer to a unified source of all existence.
